Frequently Asked Questions
What is the diameter of the glass pendant?
The diameter ranges from 5.5-6.5” there is some variance here are these are all blown individually by humans (!) in our glass blowing atelier in Vancouver.
Can I specify how many “bubbles” I want?
There will always be a milk white glass “bubble” to house the lamp but the clear ones will always vary from one to three—this cannot be specified, nor can the location but trust that your 28 series chandelier will truly be one of a kind.
Can I have custom coloured pendants?
Yes, there will be an up charge and there is a minimum order of 19 pendants but we can offer this. Please note that there may be slight variations in the colours of the glass.
Are the pendants heights adjustable?
You can adjust the heights on the 28.1 and 28.3 the other chandeliers have preset lengths.
How do I measure the heights for the larger chandeliers?
From the underside of the canopy (which has a depth of 2”) to the underside of the pendant (an average of 6" diameter).
What wattage of lamp does the 28 series take?
The 28 takes 20W lamps—don’t forget your dimmer!
How do I re-lamp these pendants?
You simply untwist the pendant from the connection hardware, change the lamp, and twist the pendant back on.
What do the chandeliers weigh?

Is this a low voltage chandelier? If so, what is the voltage?
Yes, the voltage is 12V.
Are transformers included?
Yes, they are included with the chandelier.
How many pendants can you put on one transformer?
One Bocci transformer can power 2 x 28 series pendants.
Are lamps included?
No, we have two options for lamps.
1.Long-life xenon lamps—20W, 20,000 hour lamp life
2. Proprietary and replaceable LEDs—1.5W, 50,000 hour lamp life.

Not all my 28 pendants look exactly alike, is this normal?
Yes, each pendant is hand made thus making it different and unique from the rest. We celebrate this uniqueness at Bocci as this is a sign that yours is literally one of a kind.
Can these chandeliers be dimmed?
Yes the xenon version can be dimmed, and in fact we recommend it. Dimming not only allows you to change the effect and the intensity of the chandelier it also makes the lamps last up to twice as long. For this you will need to purchase a low voltage dimmer.
Can the LED version be dimmed?
Dimmable on AC transformers. Note that AC transformers have minimum load requirement. This means a minimum of 14 pendants is required for AC transformer use. Any less than 14 requires DC transformer, which is not dimmable.
What is the colour temperature of the LED?
Approximately 3000k.
What are the canopy finishes?
All 28 series canopies have white powder coated canopies as standard.
My lamps keep flickering on and off, why is this happening?
Every complaint like this has been solved by replacing the existing halogen lamps with our xenon lamps. The filament in the xenon lamps is much heartier and does not fracture or break due to movements in the building. This is why we do not recommend or sell halogen lamps.
Can these be installed on a sloped ceiling?
Yes, within reason, also be mindful to factor in the drop lengths when installing on an angle
Why do you recommend remote mounting the transformers?
We recommend this for ease of maintenance down the line as transformers have a finite life.
Do your transformers hum or buzz?
No.
Are your transformers electronic or magnetic?
Electronic.
What are your lead times?
For all of our standard chandeliers our lead times are 1-3 days from receipt of payment in full. Our custom chandeliers have a lead time of approximately 3 weeks from receipt of signed shop drawings, shop drawings are issued once we have a confirmed PO and 50% deposit. The remaining 50% is due prior to shipping.
Can I hang these chandeliers on a sloped ceiling?
Yes, you can hang our chandeliers on a gently sloped ceilings of 15 degrees or less. If it is a steeper slope it can also be done but there may be other restrictions in terms of the pendant configuration—please contact Bocci for steep ceiling applications.
